With its fast economic growth, China has created a ¡°Chinese Legend¡± for the rest of the world. However, the country has also suffered from a tremendous cost: the shortage of energy, the high consumption of raw materials, the prohibitive costs¡ all of which are posing an unprecedented challenge to the sustainable competitive edge of China¡¯s economy.

¡°Creating value through service¡± is a significant idea which can create sustainable development in China. Experience from developed countries indicates that a flourishing service sector helps alleviate the scarcity of resources and energy. The introduction of service into manufacturing facilitates its own transformation, as well as promotes the value of its products. Furthermore, increased efficiency of public service will substantially help foster social harmony and improve people¡¯s welfare.
