With the belief of “learning by doing”, Fudan International MBA Program newly launched the JOIN Project-Based Learning Program (JOIN PBLP) to bridge students’ managerial theories and practices in real business and social environments. Through students’ participation in PBLP activities, the program is designed to enhance their competencies on communication, management and leadership, and hence makes them be well prepared for future career development.
JOIN PBLP is a compulsory course for the Fudan IMBA students. Prof. Huang Jianbing, Fudan IMBA Program Academic Director is the coordinator of the program. This program guideline is made for IMBA students’ involvement of experiential activities and the evaluation for their 2 practice credits.
What is the Fudan JOIN Consulting Project? As part of PBLP, Fudan JOIN Consulting Project is designed to leverage the expertise and research backgrounds of distinguished Fudan School of Management faculty and MBAs to provide unbiased perspective and strategic insights to real businesses. Each consulting team comprises 5 to 6 Fudan MBA students, with professional experience prior to their MBA study. All teams will be tutored by one academic professor and another business practitioner, selected from a large alumni pool.
All stakeholder win with JOIN Consulting Project: Students learn and apply their skills to real corporate challenges. Professors apply their knowledge and mentor students. Client companies get unique, cost-efficient solutions. Everyone wins.
The result is a unique blend of theoretical vision, experiential know-how, and creative "out of the box" thinking.

Previous Consulting Experience since 2005In 2005, Fudan-Wharton Global Consulting Practicum was established to deliver consulting services for senior managers who want to enter or improve their businesses in the North American market. The client companies covered medicine, chemistry, agriculture, FMCG and other industries.
In 2008, Fudan University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology launched the China Lab Project. 3 months consulting practice makes MBAs meet today's business and information technology demands. In the end, the team-based solutions solve mission-critical business problems that provide educational value to students and business value to client companies, which were start-ups on the Yangtze-River Delta from IT software, medical service, finance, and logistics industries.
Based on the successful experience of the GCP and China Lab and the positive feedback of client companies, Fudan MBA Office initiated the Fudan JOIN Consulting Project in the April 2009.
