Explore the Integration of Charity and Business at Fudan MBA

Despite his impaired hearing since his childhood, the newly enrolled Fudan MBA student Shi Chengchuan co-founded Voibook in Guangzhou, a startup that seeks to make communication easier for people like him.

The volume of global users of Voibook, the app his team developed to convert voice into text, achieved 1 million in 5 years. In addition to Voibook, Shi's team has also developed a communication system for public organizations such as hospitals, banks and museums to better serve people who are hard of hearing.

In 2020, Shi was listed among the Forbes “30 under 30” entrepreneurs in the consumer technology field. The company is currently in the middle of A round of fund raising.

Shi learned that the Fudan MBA Program has a scholarship for the charity sector and decided to give it a try. Recalling his application, Shi is filled with gratitude towards the program, not only for granting him the indispensable scholarship, but also for the support and encouragement he received. The recruiting team has been offering all kinds of assistance for almost a whole year. When Shi found himself lost in the middle of an intense discussion because of his hard of hearing during the group interview, the interviewer kindly reminded the other students to give him a chance to speak.

“Our project is a combination of technology, social welfare and business. Until now, we’ve been relatively weak on the business side,”Shi explained. “That’s why I wish to learn business management systematically and lead my team to go faster and further, so as to enable hearing-impaired people all over the world to integrate into social life without barriers”.
