Introduction to International Advisory Board of School
of Management, Fudan University
As part of Fudan University, a leading Chinese university with the centennial pursuit of academic excellence and humanism heritage, School of Management has been leveraging the outstanding internationalized business cultural environment of Shanghai where the School is based to make continuous progresses during the past decades. Today, the School is well recognized and highly respected by the peers home and abroad for its overall strengths in academic research, talent cultivation, social service, institutional innovation and brand building. The School has envisaged its strategic goal of to reach top 10 among the leading Asian business schools in the next 3 to 4 years, and to become a world-class business school through the 10 to 15 years of further development. To achieve this strategic goal and learn from the development experiences from international top-tier business schools, the School initiated in 2011 the plan of establishing its International Advisory Board. This idea has been highly valued and fully endorsed by Mr. Lanqing Li, the School's distinguished alumnus and former Member of Standing Committee of Politburo of CPC Central Committee, former Vice Premier of the State Council. With the support of Fudan University and through considerable preparations, the International Advisory Board announces its Official Founding and hosts the Inaugural Board Meeting on October 12th, 2013.

International Advisory Board consists of 30 former ranking officials, business gurus, professional experts and eminent scholars from Asian, European, North and South American countries. Mr. Lanqing Li serves as Honorary Chairman of the Board, and Madam Zhili Chen, former Vice Chairman of National People's Congress and former State Councilor, serves as Chairman of the Board.

The Board will review the School's strategic development plans and major development projects as well as guide the improvement of the plans and projects. Meanwhile, it will analyze the market of global management education and its impact on the School's development, and thus advise the School to build up the network of resources and strengths needed to the School's long term development. So far, School of Management has successfully hosted two plenary meetings. Members of International Advisory Board have contributed ideas and exert efforts effectively, greatly promote the process of development for school and business education in China.

As the School's top think-tank, the International Advisory Board boasts international leading standard and functions as the School's important tie to establish extensive communications and collaborations with all sectors home and abroad. With the Board's strong support, the School is more confident of pursuing its goal of becoming a world-class business school, continuously improving its global competitiveness and influence, better accomplishing its mission, and thus playing a more active role and making greater contribution to the economic development and social progress in China as well as the growth and prosperity of global economy.
