Financial Times: BI among the best in Europe

BI Norwegian School of Management ranks 53rd on the Financial Times list of the top 65 graduate business schools in Europe.

“I am extremely satisfied that we are among the best graduate business schools in Europe,” says President of BI Norwegian School of Management, Tom Colbjørnsen.

Two Norwegian Schools

In Norway both BI and NHH (Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration) are among the 65 top schools, while the other Nordic countries only have one school each in this league. In addition, both Norwegian schools have climbed up the list, while the business schools in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki are at about the same level as last year.

”The rivalry between BI and NHH is motivating , but it would be narrow-minded to make this a primary issue in the future. The competition for good students, company customers and teachers will be in an international arena, and Copenhagen Business School is currently our most important benchmark. The gap between us is not that big,” says Colbjørnsen.

Other important international rankings and accreditations

BI Norwegian School of Management recently received an award from EDUNIVERSAL for being ranked as the 20th most recognised business school in the world (no. 12 in Europe). BI is also EQUIS-accredited as one of only 113 schools in the world.

“These rankings and accreditations emphasize different things. The global EDUNIVERSAL says the most about each business school’s international visibility among the deans of the 1,000 top business schools in the world. The Financial Times’ rankings are more market-oriented and strongly influenced by salary levels and career development after graduation, and feedback from students and companies. The international evaluation that says the most about the individual school’s quality is actually whether the school is EQUIS-accredited,” says Colbjørnsen.
