Northern China Business Development Director

ROLE MISSION
Delivering incremental revenue for Kantar Greater China whilst in turn helping the leading Chinese brands answer the key business questions they have through actionable insight. Kantar China has established a highly entrepreneurial Business Development team which you would be the leader for the business development activities in the Northern China.

KEY OUTCOMES STATEMENT:
· Personal responsibility for the full sales process (prospecting to contract signing) to develop revenue with key Chinese & Multinational clients.
· People management of 1 direct report who is focused on selling syndicated and highly modular Kantar solutions.
· Lead the China selling plan for a key industry vertical e.g. FMCG, Financial Services or Technology.
· Target potential new clients for Kantar Greater China and identify their key business questions that can be answered using Kantar’s market-leading suite of research and consultancy solutions.
You will be incentivised to target potential new clients for Kantar Greater China and identify their key business questions that can be answered using Kantar’s market-leading suite of research and consultancy solutions. Examples of the business questions that we’ve been helping leading Chinese and Multinational brands answer in the last 6 months are:
· Huawei - We are #1 in China in our category but #3 in the rest of the world; help us understand how to win with consumers in Western Europe.
· PingAn – What are the unmet needs of consumers in the Healthcare Insurance category?
· Yili – How do we improve the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns?
· Chili’s – We want to launch our restaurant Chain in China – where and how should we launch?
· Disney – How should we develop our brand in lower tier cities in China?
CAPABILITIES STATEMENT
Ú8+ years’ experience in a sales role in market research, Consultancy, B2B or FMCG sales, or Media/Creative Agencies.
ÚTrack record of delivering incremental revenue from a portfolio of clients in China
ÚDemonstration of consultative selling skills in meetings, pitching and proposal writing
ÚGood breadth of key client contacts in China and strong networking skills
ÚBreadth of knowledge in at least 1 of the key industry verticals - FMCG, Financial Services, Technology
ÚBroad understanding of Market research techniques (but not necessarily an expert in conducting market research) with intelligent curiosity to be able to learn the details quickly
ÚA self-starter able to go after client opportunities tenaciously
ÚFluent in Mandarin, at least conversational English but strong written English skills
ÚWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
