In Fudan MBA, international students with different cultural and career backgrounds are learning localized management thinking. They choose to start their new journey at Fudan MBA, and are ushering in a brand new future.
Among them is Ma Sai from Peru. Years ago, a TV program called "Bridge of the Chinese Language" made him fascinated by the rapidly changing modern China. Therefore, when his company Hortifruit, the world's largest blueberry producer, was launching a project in China, Ma Sai decided to come on board and become the man in charge of nearly 700 hectare of blueberries in Yunnan Province.
Years later, Ma Sai realised that in order to participate in the strategic decision-making on a higher level, he must gain more professional knowledge. He made his research on world rankings of business schools in China and became a student the Fudan MBA Program.
Ma Sai found the courses highly practical. "For example, the accounting course I’m taking recently allows me to see more key information from the financial statements. Now I can use data to support my ideas in the meetings," said Ma Sai excitingly. Through the professors and his fellow students, Ma has also learned so much about the development of Shanghai and China, as well as the Chinese business culture.
Ma Sai believes farming doesn’t just concern farmers. "Working in agriculture makes me feel very fulfilled, after all, this is an industry that affects the jobs of countless people," said Ma Sai. "I believe by applying the knowledge of cost management, personnel management, and systematic management learned from my Fudan MBA study, I will make breakthroughs in my work and allow more people to see the prospects of agricultural development."
