Rich Lesser is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). In his role, Mr. Lesser has led BCG’s continued global expansion, opening four new offices, and he has enhanced BCG’s capabilities in large-scale change, Big Data, and digital transformation. Since joining BCG in 1988, Mr. Lesser’s client work has focused on innovation, strategy, and large-scale transformation in the health care and consumer sectors. It includes major successes in redirecting corporate and business unit objectives, improving R&D effectiveness, streamlining organizations, boosting productivity, and managing post-merger integration. His insights on business, technology, and the economy have appeared in top publications around the world, including: The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, The Economist, Bloomberg Businessweek, Fortune, The Daily Telegraph, Les Echos, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, The Economic Times, China Daily, The Australian, and The Nikkei. Mr. Lesser is also interviewed regularly by leading broadcast media—including CNBC, Bloomberg TV, the BBC, CCTV, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Before joining BCG, Mr. Lesser worked in product development at Procter & Gamble. He earned an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, and a BSE in chemical engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan.
