Call for Papers

The 2025 Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance Symposium (International) will be held on June 6-7, 2025 at School of Management, Fudan University, Shanghai, China. The Symposium invites submissions of high-quality research, addressing cutting-edge research topics in the areas of (1) Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), (2) Artificial Intelligence (AI), and (3) Big Data. Submissions employing novel research methods or data will be particularly welcomed.

We have cordially invited Professor Philip Berger to serve as the keynote speaker for this symposium. Professor Philip Berger is Wallman Family Professor of Accounting at Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. His research focuses on financial reporting and corporate finance. He has published in all the top accounting and finance journals, and has been an editor of Journal of Accounting Research for 20 years.

We regret to announce that Professor Philip Berger is unfortunately unable to join us as the keynote speaker for the 2025 JAAF Symposium in Shanghai. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he will no longer be able to travel to Shanghai at this time. The symposium program remains strong with a diverse range of excellent research presentations and an exciting new Research Spotlight session offering authors direct feedback from the JAAF editorial team. We are committed to providing a valuable experience for all participants and look forward to welcoming you to Fudan University on June 6-7, 2025.

Relevant topics for this Symposium include (but are not limited to):

  1. Environmental and social disclosures
  2. Incentives and economic consequences of ESG reporting activities
  3. How capital market participants and non-capital-market stakeholders collect, process, and produce ESG-related information
  4. Impact of AI and Big Data on capital market participants and non-capital-market stakeholders
  5. Challenges and opportunities that AI and Big Data introduce for financial reporting
  6. Use of emerging AI technologies and Big Data in our field of research
