Random walk and sequentiall analysis are two of the most dynamic areas in probability and statistics. They have witnessed spectacular progresses during the later half of the last century. Random walk is considered the backbone of the modern probability theory, for which the celebrated law of large numbers and the central limit theorems are established. It is also the theoretic foundation for sequential analysis, which has extensive applications in engineering, biomedical sciences, economics among others. Both random walk and sequential analysis played pivotal roles in recent advances in quantitative finance. They have also impacted the revolutionary developments in modern microbiology. In short, they are two closely related classical subjects which are still at the forefront of modern science.
