John S. Long is the founder and chief executive officer of Highridge Partners, a diversified investment company specializing in identifying, providing capital to, and managing undervalued assets and corporate opportunities related to real estate. Since its inception in 1978, Highridge has acquired, developed, managed, owned and sold over $7.5 billion of commercial and residential real estate assets on a global basis. Mr. Long is also the co-founder, along with Oscar De La Hoya, of Golden Boy Partners, a real estate development company focused on urban communities. Mr. Long is recognized industry-wide for developing a multi-disciplinary analytical approach, an interactive management style, and the ability to anticipate market movements to create opportunistic investment strategies.
Erwin Chemerinsky (born May 14, 1953) is an American lawyer and law professor. He is a prominent scholar in United States constitutional law and federal civil procedure. He is the current and founding dean of the University of California, Irvine School of Law, which began classes in the fall semester of 2009.
Raised in a working-class Jewish family on Chicago's South Side, Chemerinsky attended the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools for high school. He then earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Northwestern University in 1975 where he competed as a debater and then attended Harvard Law School, where he was a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, graduating in 1978.
Andrew J. Policano has been Dean of The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine since August, 2004. Prior to that, he was Dean of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. While he was at Wisconsin, the School’s undergraduate program was ranked 10th by U.S. News and the MBA program was ranked 23rd by Business Week. Under Policano’s leadership, the School’s endowment rose from $6 million to over $95 million.
The Paul Merage School is highly recognized and acclaimed. In 2005, The Wall Street Journal ranked the school 4th in Information Technology; in 2003, Business Week ranked the intellectual contributions of the faculty 5th and in 2005, the Financial Times ranked the Executive MBA program 15th in the U.S. Recently, the School launched a campaign for a Center for Real Estate; in the first six months of the campaign, over $2.4 million has been pledged to support the program.
