简　介：荆炳义教授1993年在澳大利亚悉尼大学获得统计学博士学位，现为香港科技大学数学系教授、统计科学中心主任，教育部"**学者"讲座教授。是国际统计学会(ISI)当选会员，曾任泛华统计协会理事会主任(ICSA Board Director)，以及《Journal of Business & Economic Statistics》 和 《Canadian Journal of Statistics》等五家国际学术期刊的副主编 (Associate Editor)，他曾获得2010年度教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖(自然科学)的二等奖;以及2015年度国家自然科学奖二等奖。他的主要研究领域为：概率统计、机器学习与数据挖掘、金融经济等。在概率统计国际期刊发表了百余篇学术论文，其中在 《The Annals of Statistics》《The Annals of Probability》《Journal of the American Statistical Association》等顶级期刊上发表20余篇高水平学术论文。

摘　要：

Multi-layer networks are a common occurrence in practice. In this talk, we will explore the problem of community detection of these networks via tensor approach. The preliminary results show many potentials of using tensor method. This is work in progress.
