[Msom_conference_2010] MSOM 2010, Call for Participation and Registration, update

Dear fellow researcher,

Below please find the call for participation and registration for the MSOM 2010 Conference that I sent out last month. Since then there has been some important updates that I thought would interest you.

We have accepted about 150 papers for oral presentations and about 40 papers for poster presentations. A current list of oral and poster presentations is available on the MSOM 2010 Program tab of the conference website.
The SIG Conferences are in the process of finalizing their schedules; details will be posted on the SIG Conferences tab of the conference website as they become available.
The pre- and post-conference tours have been finalized and registration has begun.
The accompanying person tours have been finalized and registration has begun.
At the Conference Banquet there will be welcoming remarks both by Israel's Minister of Science and Technology, Rabbi Professor Daniel Hershkowitz, and the President of the Technion, Professor Peretz Lavie.

Please remember that there are only 10 or so days to go before the early registration deadline of May 3^rd.

The MSOM Conference will be preceded by

the SIG (Special Interest Group) Conferences

on June 27, 2010

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We invite you to participate in the 2010 MSOM Annual Conference and the Special Interest Group Conferences to be held on June 27–29, 2010 at the Industrial Engineering and Management Faculty of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel.

Both events are sponsored by the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (MSOM) of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). The Special Interest Group (SIG) Conferences will take place on Sunday, June 27^th. The MSOM Conference will take place on Monday, June 28^th and Tuesday, June 29^th.

We have received a large number of submissions, more than we can handle; most of these will be scheduled for frontal presentations. If you wish to participate in what promises to be a great conference we ask that you register now.

Registration: Registration is now open! To register please use the attached form. Please fill it out and FAX it to +972 4 829 4408. Alternatively you can email it to msom2010@gmail.com, but we feel that a FAX is more secure. You should use the form to register for the SIG Conferences, the MSOM Conference and the post conference event. The signup for the tours, both before, during and after the conference, will be made directly with the tour company. See the Social/Spouses/Family Program.

Hotels: Information on the conference hotels now appears on the conference website. Several people have asked for my recommendation on where to stay. It is my optinion that no hotel is right for everyone. In my opinion you should stay at the

Dan Carmel, if you like a great hotel.
Dan Panorama, if you like a very good hotel that is very close to some shops/cafes.
Dan Gardens, if you are on a budget.

Social Program: The social program is near completion. Some additional details have been posted on the Social/Spouses/Family Program website. The framework of the pre and post conference tours already appears (enough information to make flight arrangements). Complete information will be available within a fortnight.
