Professor Yu Zhejun earned his Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Leipzig, Germany, in 2010. His research focuses on sociology of religion, social philosophy and philosophy of social science.He is currently Associate Professor, Doctoral Supervisor and Deputy Director of the Department of Religious Studies at Fudan University. He also serves as Director and Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Society for Religious Studies, and Director of the China Society for Religious Studies. His major works include *Deities and Townsfolk: A Study of Religious Festivals in Republican-era Shanghai* and *When Plato Meets Lumière: Philosophical Reflections in Cinema*.
