The Financial Times published its EMBA 2025 ranking on 12 October 2025. In it, the Fudan University-Washington University EMBA Program (listed as WashU-Fudan EMBA under Washington University: Olin) is ranked No. 1 globally. It also ranks first on both salary today and salary increase.
Fudan University-Washington University Executive MBA Program is widely regarded as one of the most renowned EMBA programs in China. Established in 2002, the program is China’s first joint venture in management education to prepare top executives in China to lead and transform today’s global business.
The program is renowned for its academic rigor, strong focus on strategy, leadership, global perspective, innovation and entrepreneurship, with an active and diversified alumni base across Asia Pacific area. This is achieved by the joint efforts of the two partners, each contributing their unique excellence in running a world-class program.
The programme runs for 18 months and is taught at the School of Management, Fudan University, in Shanghai. Classes meet once a month, Thursday through Sunday, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and you should allow roughly eight hours of preparation and follow-up work around each session.
The Fudan-WashU EMBA comprises three residency modules. The Opening Residency takes place in China each May as a five-day residency, featuring an opening ceremony at Fudan School of Management followed by four days of classes in Suzhou. The overseas Mid-term Residency is a one-week session designed to enrich students’ learning on innovation and entrepreneurship. The two-week U.S. Residency includes academic exchanges and corporate visits in Washington, D.C., with insights from industry experts and leading scholars on opportunities, challenges and operational risks across major global economic regions. Students then move to Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis for integrated coursework and group work to finish their capstone innovation project, and the U.S. residency culminates in a graduation ceremony at the university’s chapel.
None of the three carries an additional fee, and accommodation and meals are covered by tuition: international travel to and from the overseas destinations is at your own cost.
The programme is designed for senior managers with a university degree or equivalent, more than 10 years of work experience including at least 5 years in management (or 5 years in a position of senior responsibility), and a high level of English proficiency. All teaching, discussion and coursework is in English.
