Bio of the Speaker

Saul Singer，同Dan Senor一样，是畅销书《创业的国度——以色列经济奇迹的启示》的主笔之一。他是前《耶路撒冷邮报》的社论版编辑和专栏作家。Tom Brokaw称《创业的国度》是给每位想培养下一代企业领袖的CEO最好的范本。这本著作在《纽约时报》和《华尔街日报》畅销榜上都榜上有名，在多个国家地区如以色列，印度和新加坡都同样畅销。

 

这本著作引发了形形色色的回响，以色列总理Binyamin Netanyahu就此宣称以色列是一个“创业的国度！” CNN的Fareed Zakaria称之为一本“每位阿拉伯商人、官员和政治家都该阅读的著作。” 《经济学人》杂志引用《创业的国度》称：“在过去的二十年里，以色列已经从一滩死水变成了一个高科技技术的超级强国。”

 

这本著作被翻译成25种语言并在多地出版，包括：中文,德语,法语,意大利语,西班牙语,俄语,葡萄牙语,韩语,日语,印度尼西亚,土耳其,阿拉伯语和希伯来语。

 

在《创业的国度》中文版出版之际，Singer出席了在天津举办的“世界经济论坛-夏季达沃斯”大会，同时在北京大学和上海世博会以色列馆发表个人演讲。他以“以色列“和”创新“作为演讲的主旨，在悉尼、圣保罗、马德里、首尔、布鲁塞尔、柏林、布拉格波哥大、圣地亚哥、新加坡、多伦多和美国多地进行演讲。

 

在以色列生活的期间，Singer走访过许多跨国企业在当地的总部并发表演讲，包括：强生、宝洁、Xerox、Mars、通用电气、IBM、AT&T、阿尔卡特朗讯、微软和杜邦公司。他在当地接待过到访的美国国会议员代表、国外记者、学者和商界领袖。Singer同时也是一家以色列基金Vintage Investment Partners的顾问委员会成员之一，也在一家工作在尼泊尔和海地的以色列非政府组织- Tevel B’Tsedek担任顾问一职。

 

除了《耶路撒冷邮报》外，Singer曾为《华尔街日报》，美国《新闻周刊》，CNN撰写评论，同时也接受过彭博电视和福克斯商业电视台的个人电视采访。在1994年搬到以色列之前，Singer曾担任过多个国会议员、众议院外交事物委员会成员、参议院银行委员会成员的顾问一职长达十年之久。如今，Singer与妻子和三个孩子居住在耶路撒冷。

 

Saul Singer is the co-author, with Dan Senor, of the best-selling book Start-Up Nation: The Story of Israel's Economic Miracle. He is a former Editorial Page Editor and columnist at the Jerusalem Post. Tom Brokaw called Start-Up Nation, “a playbook for every CEO who wants to develop the next generation of corporate leaders.” The book has reached #5 on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal business bestseller lists, and is also a bestseller inIsrael, India, and Singapore.

 

The book has sparked reactions as diverse asIsraeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahudeclaring, “We are the Start-UpNation!” to CNN’s Fareed Zakaria calling it “A book every single Arab businessman, Arab bureaucrat, and Arab politician should read.” Citing Start-UpNation, the Economist proclaimed, “Over the past two decades Israel has been transformed from a semisocialist backwater into a high-tech superpower.” Thebook is also being published in 25 languages, including Chinese, German,French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian,Turkish, Arabic and Hebrew.

 

In conjunction with the launch of Chinese edition of Start-UpNation, Singer attended the World Economic Forum’s “Summer Davos” conference inTianjin, spoke at Peking University, and at the Israeli pavilion of the Shanghai Expo. He has given numerous keynotes relating to Israel andinnovation, including in Sydney, SaoPaulo, Madrid, Seoul, Prague, Brussels,Berlin, Bogota, Santiago, Singapore, Toronto and widely throughout the United States.

 

In Israel, Singer has briefed visiting executives from or spoken atthe Israeli headquarters of companies such as: Johnson & Johnson, Proctor& Gamble, Xerox, Mars, General Electric, IBM, AT&T, Alcatel Lucent,Medtronic, Microsoft, and Dupont. He has also briefed numerous delegations of Members ofthe United States Congress and visiting journalists, academics, and business leaders. He serves on the advisory boards of Vintage Investment Partners, an Israeli fund of funds, and Tevel B’Tsedek, an Israeli NGO working in Nepal and Haiti.

 

In addition to the Jerusalem Post, Singer has written for the WallStreet Journal, Newsweek, CNN Opinion, and been interviewed by television networks such as Bloomberg TV and Fox Business. Before moving to Israel in1994, he served for ten years as an adviser to different Members of Congressand on the staffs of the House Foreign Affairs and Senate Banking Committees.He lives in Jerusalem with his wife and three children.
