主题: A Bounded Rationality Perspective of Strategic Leadership, Artificial Intelligence, and Entrepreneurial Financing

摘要：This talk uses bounded rationality as a unifying lens to reflect on my own research on strategic leadership and entrepreneurial financing, as well as on academia's emerging engagement with artificial intelligence (AI). First, drawing on my CEO humility paper published at Organization Science, I reflect on the foundational difference between leadership research in organizational behavior and strategic leadership research in strategy, exploring how bounded rationality manifests and whether it can be mitigated. Second, I turn the lens on ourselves as scholars, drawing on my experience as an Associate Editor to consider how bounded rationality constrains our instrumental use of AI in academic publishing. While we hope AI will augment our scholarly capabilities, it may instead limit our real impact if we remain unaware of our own biases and blind spots. Third, I hope to seek feedback on a work-in-progress on entrepreneurial financing that treats personal chemistry as a source of bounded rationality, showing how the moment-to-moment dynamics between venture capitalists and entrepreneurs predict whether an investment relationship forms.

嘉宾简介：Dr. Amy Ou（欧怡）is an Associate Professor at Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Department of Management and Marketing. She is the associate editor at Journal of Management, senior editor at Management and Organization Review, and a member of the editorial review board at Organization Science. With a PhD from Arizona State University, her research focuses on strategic leadership (CEO humility), women career management, organizational culture and cross-cultural management. Her work appears in top journals like Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Academy of Management Journal. Awarded the Alvah H. Chapman Jr. Outstanding Dissertation Award and best paper prizes, her CEO humility research has been featured in Forbes China, USA Today, and The Business Times.
