Wine Appreciation & Culture Event
2017-09-26
To improve students’ knowledge of red wine and the associated wine culture.
To inform students in the finer arts of wine tasting and dining occasions.
The UPEC is happy to hold “wine appreciation and wine culture event” on Sept 26th night.
In the tasting session, there’ll be 6 wines giving a rough representation of the various regions and styles of Italian wines. We start with a sweet bubbly Moscato d’Asti, and then proceed to Soave, the most well-known white wines of Italy from around Venice. We will continue with a floral red from the north, a fruit red from the south, and then the king of Italian wines, a Barolo from 2007. We will wrap up the tasting with a 20 years old wine made primarily with Sangiovese, the most planted Italian native red grape.
