Organizational Management and Control
This course addresses the topic of organization design and the related various management control approaches. The course aims to create an understanding of appropriate organizational design for different types of institutions, and build practical skills related to the principles and challenges of designing and implementing contemporary organizations. The latter includes the dynamics and process of structuring organizations, and the specific ways organizations can set up and use their management control and performance measurement systems.
The course is broken down into the two elements of Organization Theory & Design, and Management Control, which covers types of organizational design, centralization, decentralization and specialization, organizational change, conventional management control and responsibility accounting and performance measurement systems

Hanno Roberts
Department of Accounting and Operations Management
Professor Profile:Hanno Roberts, PhD, MBA, is Full Professor of Management Accounting and Control at BI Norwegian Business School. He has been teaching the interdisciplinary course Organisational Management and Control in the BI-Fudan MBA program for the past 18 years. He has received several Best MBA Faculty teaching awards for his innovative course designs and practical learning approaches, including the use of artificial intelligence.
Research area:His research interests revolve around intellectual capital and the knowledge-intensive firm, in which he has participated in several international projects. He is on the editorial board of several academic journals and has guest-edited special issues on digitalisation, action research, and family business.
