VOLVO president: Environmental protection is a crucial part of corporate social responsibility
To implement the corporate strategy on environmental protection is a “win-win” solution for the development of both enterprises and society, Mr. Leif Johansson, VOLVO president, told MasterCard Forum of Management Masters in Fudan’s School of Management on April 13.
Mr. Johansson is also CEO of the Volvo Group.
The forum was presided over by Professor LU Xiongwen, dean of the school.
Entitled “Globalized management – challenges and obligations for Volvo,” the keynote speech Mr. Johansson delivered at the forum concentrated the spotlight on three core values of VOLVO’s corporate culture, that is, safety, quality, and environmental protection, with the last one playing an epicenter role in the corporate social responsibility.
VOLVO president touched upon a full range of topics surrounding the VOLVO Group development against a backdrop of globalization, including its waves of progress in global competition and varied management strategies in different markets.
He detailed VOLVO’s consistency in implementing environment-friendly policies in the process of researching, decision-making on corporate strategies, and practicing the corporate management concepts.
He said that, he regards such policies as stimulus in pushing his world-leading company to adopt highly eco-friendly technologies and upgrade its competitive edges, so as to reach a common “win-win” goal for both company and the community it supports.
Since its establishment, the best-known international forum has built itself into a melting pot for China’s first-class management education to go with world’s most leading management expertise.
