    Dean's Message

    For over a century, Fudan carries forward its legacy;

    At forty, the School of Management embarks on a new chapter.

    Since its re-establishment in 1985, School of Management at Fudan University has kept in tune with the times and stayed closely aligned with national strategies. Dedication to learning, passion for accomplishment; growth with great virtues, readiness to help others. Over four decades, the School has pursued bold breakthroughs in discipline building, sought truth in academic research, cultivated generations of accomplished graduates, and lived up to its social responsibilities through community engagement. From local exploration to world‑class standing, and from in‑depth theoretical inquiry to empowering real‑world business practice, the School has achieved historic progress across all its endeavours.

    We firmly believe business education goes far beyond knowledge‑imparting and problem‑solving. It inspires critical thinking and shapes core values. Against the backdrop of profound global shifts, the School upholds its mission: cultivating managerial elites with global perspectives and local insights for contribution to China’s economic development. Guided by our ethos of “Enlightening for Truth, Pioneering for Change”, we encourage faculty and students to strive for academic excellence, assume social responsibility, and drive progress in business and society at large.

    Looking ahead, guided by our vision to stand in the front-ranks of the world’s leading business schools, the School will proactively embrace transformation and further implement three core strategies: AI Strategy, Science‑and‑Technology Innovation Strategy, and Internationalization Strategy. We will reshape business education for the digital‑intelligent era, strengthen the self‑reliance and development of technology‑driven enterprises through management expertise, nurture top‑caliber talents with global competence, and build an independent knowledge system of Chinese management studies from a global perspective. We hope every student joining the School will cultivate humanistic awareness, sharpen professional competencies, and grow into responsible leaders of the era equipped with lofty aspirations and a grounded sense of commitment.

    We are grateful for the enduring support and companionship of our alumni and friends from all walks of life. May we advance hand‑in‑hand, chart new ground amid global shifts, and draw on management insights to shoulder our era‑defining responsibility for the high‑quality development of China’s economy.
