FDSM's newly launched Master of AI for Business (MAIB) program aims to cultivate "π-shaped talents" who understand technological logic, possess managerial wisdom, and embody humanistic warmth.

This program aims to translate hardcore science and engineering technologies and AI technologies into commercial value. Through systematic training, students with science and engineering backgrounds will be equipped to navigate the pathway from technology to business, while students with a business background will strengthen their AI technical capabilities, ultimately achieving a multiplier effect on their competencies. The program seeks to cultivate a cohort of versatile AI management professionals who are proficient in AI technologies, possess business acumen, and have extensive practical implementation experience, thereby supplying backbone talent for industrial intelligent upgrading.
The Program features two tracks:
- Master of AI for Business - AI & Business Innovation (ABI)
- Master of AI for Business - AI for Marketing (AIM)
Program Structure and Curriculum Highlights
The program adopts a curriculum framework of "Hardcore Technology + Business Insight", deeply integrating the essence of classical business education with cutting-edge AI technologies, and responding closely to the profound transformations in corporate organization, roles and responsibilities, and business mindset in the AI era. Course content is derived from faculty members' frontline corporate experience, covering hands-on projects such as agent workflow development, audit process implementation, collaborative programming, large model applications, and small model fine-tuning. This aligns with the current strong demand for "AI agents for efficiency enhancement across the entire workforce" in enterprises, effectively achieving industry-education integration and holistic education.
Top-tier Computing Power Support
The School's AI for Business Laboratory will be equipped with computing resources valued at over RMB 3 million to fully support faculty and student research and practical initiatives.
Immersive Practical Teaching
Traditional case-based teaching will be upgraded to AI-driven simulated internships, with the introduction of Action Learning, organizing students to go deep into the frontlines of enterprises to solve real business challenges.
Industry Ecosystem Support
Leveraging the School's extensive alumni network and corporate partnerships, the Program offers abundant internship and employment opportunities, with a faculty team possessing both technical and business perspectives, providing hands-on mentorship.
AI Business Competition for Practical Training
The Program is planning to launch an AI Business Competition, based on real corporate challenges and utilizing the laboratory's computing platform, enabling students to address real problems, develop solutions, and gain valuable practical experience.

Four-Stage Curriculum — From Foundation to Real-World Practice
- Stage 1: Foundation — Collaborative Programming and Tools. Learn to use tools such as Claude Code and Copilot to deliver real business outcomes.
- Stage 2: Advanced — System Principles and Algorithmic Intuition. Understand large models and recommendation algorithms. Communicate effectively with engineers.
- Stage 3: Experimentation — AI Sandbox Experiment Course. Collaborate with industry leaders to fine-tune multi-agent systems in real business scenarios.

How to Apply (for International Students)
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport; (If you have dual citizenship or have a citizenship of Hong Kong, Taiwan or Macao, please inform us in advance)
- Bachelor's degree (We welcome applicants from various academic backgrounds);
- Proof of English proficiency.
Reference for the Coverage of Exam:
Applicants for AIB will need to pass the online math and Python test.
- Mathematics: (Functions, Limits and Continuity, Differential and Integral Calculus of Single-Variable Functions, Differential and Integral Calculus of Multivariable Functions, Infinite Series, Ordinary Differential Equations)
- b. Linear Algebra (Determinants, Matrices, Vectors, Systems of Linear Equations, Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors of Matrices, Quadratic Forms, Positive Definite Matrix, Orthogonal Matrices)
- c. Probability and Mathematical Statistics (Random Events and Their Probability, Random Variables and Their Probability Distributions, Two-Dimensional Random Variables and Their Probability Distributions, Numerical Characteristics of Random Variables, Laws of Large Numbers and the Central Limit Theorem, Basic Concepts of Mathematical Statistics, Parameter Estimation, Hypothesis Testing)
- Programming: Basic Python syntax, fundamental data structures (lists, tuples, dictionaries, sets), control-flow design (selection, loops), function definition, basic concepts of function-argument passing, basic concepts of algorithm complexity and the complexity of common algorithms, common string-manipulation functions, introductory knowledge of regular expressions, basic file operations, basic concepts of object-oriented programming, common functions in NumPy and Pandas.

Phase 1 Online Application (Fudan SoM System)
There will be 4 rounds of review throughout the application season. We strongly encourage applicants to apply the earlier rounds.

- Complete online Fudan SoM application form and upload required documents.
Please be aware that the School will only review applications that's completed and submitted, with all required documents attached.
Notes:
1) Applications missing any required documents will not be accepted. Additional
documents may be requested at the School's discretion. To revise your
application form prior to submission, please use the "Save" function. Once the
application form is submitted, no further revisions will be permitted.
2) The online application system will close in April 2027. Please plan your
application timeline accordingly.
3) If you fail to provide the required documents, your application will not be
accepted. Other documents might be required when necessary. If you want to

Phase 2 Online/Onsite Interview
1) Qualified applicants will be invited for an interview via email. For
applicants residing in Shanghai at the time of the interview, an onsite
interview may be arranged.
2) Interview results will be released approximately 1-2 weeks following the
interview.
Phase 3 Online Application (Fudan University System)
Qualified applicants who pass the interview must log on to Fudan University portal via https://istudent.fudan.edu.cn/apply, and complete the online International Student Application of Fudan University, upload required documents and pay the application fee (RMB 800) online. The online system usually opens around mid-December each year.
Application Material Checklist
- Photocopy of valid passport identification page;
- Diploma of the highest degree conferred, or proof of impending graduation (for final-year applicants);
- Official university academic transcript;
- Two letters of recommendation;
- Self-introduction video (maximum 60 seconds) in English
- Personal statement
- Valid language proficiency certificate and corresponding score report
- Proof of No Criminal Record in Chinese or English
