Cordell Professor of Finance Jay Ritter is the most influential and productive researcher in IPO and entrepreneurial financing. He has published numerous articles in premier journals including Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Financial Studies. Dr. Ritter is vice president and 2012 program chair of the Financial Management Association International with its international membership of over 3,000. He has served as an associate editor of the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial & Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management, European Financial Management, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Journal of Behavioral Finance, and Journal of Financial Research. He has received Smith Breeden Prize for the best article in the Journal of Finance in 1991, Outstanding Paper Award for the best article in the Journal of Financial Research in 1996, and William F. Sharpe Prize for the best article in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis in 2009. Before joining Florida, Dr. Ritter has taught in a variety of programs at Wharton, Michigan, Illinois and MIT. In addition, he is an outstanding teacher and has received numerous teaching awards.
