On December 23, the grand “2012 Fudan MBA New Year Party” hosted by the Student Union of the MBA Classes of 2011 was held in Shanghai Grand Theatre Banquet Hall. At the party themed “I Have a Date with Spring”, more than 500 students of the MBA Classes of 2011 and their teachers looked forward to the arrival of 2012 in a joyous and warm atmosphere. Xiongwen LU, Dean of our School, Professor Zhiwen YIN, Associate Dean, Xin’e QI, Director of the MBA Program, Ninghong DAI, Deputy Director of the MBA Program, Long SUN, all the other teachers of the Office of the MBA Program, and more than 20 teachers responsible for teaching attended the activity.

It was very cold in Shanghai. The sharp drop in temperature could not resist the students’ passion for the gathering. The party began in the lively and wonderful opening dance of Chapter One – Date. “The Song of Class 7”, an original creation of students in Autumn Class 7, and “Facing You, Looking at Me”, a short play written by Autumn Class 4, were performed one after another. The beautiful tune and romantic story won a lot of applause from the audience. Then, “Dating underneath the Starry Sky”, an interactive game requiring participants to perform on the catwalk according the chosen music, pushed the atmosphere of the party to the climax. After fierce competition, the team of Autumn Class 4 won this creative catwalk show. Then, the party entered Chapter Two – Warm Spring, including “Opera Phantom”, a spectacular performance of Autumn Class 6, “Pandemonium of Christmas Eve”, a dance show adapted by International Class 1 from the musical “Cats”, wonderful poems recited by the Fudan MBA Love Committee, and a catwalk fashion show performed by Autumn Class 3. The students performed all kinds of arts.

In the party’s Chapter Three – Dream, “Flying Song”, a song and dance performed by Autumn Class 8, “Happy Swan Lake”, a dance performed by International Class 2, and “Be There or Be Square”, a song performed by Autumn Class 9, showed the students’ vigor and passion. This year’s New Year party was not only an interaction between students, but also an opportunity for all students of 2011 to express gratitude to teachers and senior students. The students invited hardworking teachers to the stage, and gave the sincerest wishes and flowers to all teachers to express their gratitude from the bottom of their hearts. For the senior teachers and representatives of alumni who always pay attention to the growth of the students of 2011 and carry forward the “Join Spirit”. The students also specially expressed their thanks to 10 senior students including Kuijun XU, Shaojun WEI, Jiayan PAN, Wenqi ZHANG, Weili YU, Xiaoxiao LIU, Zongyi BAI, Junhua ZHANG and Hua FEN, and expressed their willingness to take up the “Join Flag”.

At the end of the activity, Dean Xiongwen LU expressed good wishes of the New Year to all teachers and students again, and received thunderous applause from the audience. In a harmonious, warm, and exultant atmosphere, the “2012 Fudan MBA New Year Party” ended at last. The carefully planned art performances allowed the students to spend a happy and unforgettable night and, more importantly, made everybody feel the warmth of the big family of the Fudan MBA Program. Meanwhile, 2011 is also about to end. In the future, the students will get ready, boost their morale, and make 2012 more colorful with passions and ideals!
