One purpose of the courses is to help students experience China’s diversity. Meanwhile, he pointed out that another purpose of the courses is to allow students from different places to present their culture and thinking through this platform, integrate in differences, understand in differences and develop in differences.

As to the program itself, he said this program is the first one and hoped the students could actively give feedbacks and participate in it to facilitate the School’s improvement at the later stage of the program. Then he introduced to the students the team of teachers for the courses. “I hope the courses will be the start of your understanding of and friendship with China.”

The short program launch ceremony ended with a group photo, marking the official start of the two-week program’s courses.

The two-week International Summer School Program’s courses include many parts such as theme lectures, visits to enterprises, theme discussions and cultural experience. The students will carry out in-depth discussion on hot issues such as China’s challenges and opportunities at the current stage, multinational companies’ development trends and challenges, the status quo of China’s intellectual property protection and legislation, digital enterprise management, development of big data and e-commerce, and social networking and social media’s development trends and opportunities. In line with these themes, they will visit four highly representative companies including Lai Yi Fen and carry out dialogue with the enterprises’ senior management teams.

Innovation is an unchanging theme in today’s world. The summer program will also focus on the theme of “how to start a business in China” and carry out case analysis and discussion to help students interested in China’s entrepreneurship environment get familiar with the domestic entrepreneurship environment and expand thoughts. Following Fudan University’s long-lasting tradition of giving priority to culture, this summer program has also prepared cultural experience activities for the students, not only making the program more interesting, but also helping the students understand China more deeply.

This international summer program is the first international short-term program of the School of Management, Fudan University, designed for people who want to gain a deep and all-round understanding of China all over the world. The first program’s courses have attracted 20 young participants from all over the world, including international exchange students, managers of multinational companies and technicians from many sectors such as education, manufacturing and electronics. The School hopes the two-week courses can help these young people go beyond themselves, shake hands with each other, gain a complete and all-round understanding of China and build a new world in their hearts.
