Our School Launches a Large-scale Donation Activity with Many Alumni Including Xinyan LI Agreeing to Donate on the Spot
On September 9, 2017, the centennial of Fudan business education & one-year countdown to putting into use the Zhengli Campus of the School of Management activity was held successfully. Nearly 400 university leaders, faculty, staff and alumni representatives attended the activity.
Dean Xiongwen LU officially released the large-scale plan on donation to the Zhengli Campus. In the new centennial era of Fudan business education, the School of Management officially launched the plan on raising RMB 500 million for the Zhengli Campus, and now RMB 250 million has been donated. This large-scale donation will last three years until the end of 2019 according to the plan. After more than ten years of preparation, the School of Management pioneered in building the new campus with self-raised funds. The large-scale donation activity launched this time also created a precedent for Chinese universities’ business school development model.

Dean Xiongwen LU introduced the architectural features and diverse functions of the School’s Zhengli Campus and the internal spatial layout of the three buildings in detail, announced the details of donation implementation, and welcomed all alumni to contribute to the alma mater actively through individual and collective donation. The “Eternal Marks” memorial wall donation project was launched afterwards in order to pool alumni’s strength and reflect close ties between alumni and the School in a meaningful way. Dean LU said nearly 200 faculty and staff members had set a good example of donation. Their average donation to the eternal marks memorial wall was above RMB 6,500. Alumnus of the 2004 Fudan EMBA Program and Board Chairman of Lonking Holdings Ltd. Mr. Xinyan LI agreed to donate for the library of the Zhengli Campus on the spot.
There will be a total of three corridors between Main Building A and Main Building B on the Zhengli Campus. During the activity on September 9, Laiyifen Co., Ltd., Shanghai J.Royal Asset Management Co., Ltd and the whole 1987 class of the Department of Management Science agreed to donate for the three corridors respectively. In the lively atmosphere of the activity, alumni said passionately that their successful corporate operations were inseparable from cultivation by the School of Management over the years and that being able to contribute to the development of the School of Management at this important moment of celebrating the centennial of business education was a glory for the people of the School of Management. They hoped the School could become a first-class business school in the world soon.
