June 19, 2022
On June 19, School of Management, Fudan University (FDSM) officially launched its online education platform, Executive Education Online (EEO). More than 80,000 faculty, students, and alumni attended an online inauguration ceremony to witness the new chapter of FDSM’s online business education.

In recent years, the digital economy and digital technology, with their rapid development, extensive coverage, and profound influence, have become a key force in reorganizing global resources, reshaping the global economic structure, and changing the global competition pattern. Professor Xiongwen Lu, Dean of FDSM, pointed out that the booming development of modern technologies such as cloud computing and meta-universe is offering online business education more opportunities for future development. In response, FDSM has been actively unleashing the potential of online business education for more than ten years. Under the full cooperation of various parties, EEO was officially launched to serve as a life-long learning and communication platform with advanced management knowledge for senior managers.
Concerning the design of the platform, FDSM put forward clear requirements for the development of flexible functions, multiple interactive teaching methods, data security, and other aspects. To meet those needs, the technical team carefully designed the platform’s structure to create an intelligent online teaching ecosystem. Different from the traditional online education platform, EEO applies to both PC and mobile terminals, and is highly intelligent and globalized because of immediate access to digital teaching and learning resources worldwide, providing senior managers with real-time, convenient, and efficient learning experiences. Bo Shao, Director of the FDSM Executive Education Center (FDSM EE), mentioned that EEO is expected to become another powerful engine of FDSM EE to disseminate cutting-edge management knowledge.
The launch of EEO has multiple practical significance. Professor Hong Ling, Academic Director of FDSM EE, shared that online education can greatly meet everyone’s needs for knowledge updates, education fairness, personalized teaching, and lifelong learning. Furthermore, he reminded us that the integration of online and offline teaching has become the general trend, and FDSM’s launch of EEO complies with this historical trend.
Empowered by state of the art technology, EEO is expected to grow into a lifelong education platform for management talents and make business thinking closer to everyone, becoming a booster for FDSM to continuously lead the innovation of management education in China.
