    September 29, 2024

From August 9 to 13, 2024, the 84th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM 2024) was held in Chicago, USA. We are pleased to announce that our Department of Business Administration achieved remarkable success. A total of 20 papers from our Department of Business Administration were officially accepted through anonymous peer review by the AOM meeting, with 14 of these papers having the School of Management, Fudan University listed as the affiliation of the first author. The total number of accepted papers and the number of papers with our school as the first author's affiliation both set historical records. This achievement once again underscores the academic research capabilities of the School of Management and highlights the outstanding performance of the faculty and students from our Department of Business Administration in high-level international academic research.

The Academy of Management (AOM) was established in 1936. It is one of the most prestigious and long-standing academic organizations in the field of management, with over 20,000 members from more than 120 countries worldwide. The AOM’s official journals, such as the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ) and the Academy of Management Review (AMR), are internationally recognized as top authoritative journals in the field of management. The annual meeting of AOM is regarded as a major conference for leading scholars and practitioners in the global management field.

At this annual meeting, the papers accepted from our faculty and students cover a variety of academic fields, including organizational behavior, human resource management, strategic management, strategic leadership, and international business. The research methods are diverse, and the perspectives are innovative. The papers not only include classic research topics but also explore new topics about the transformative environment driven by artificial intelligence and digital technology. This demonstrates the depth, breadth, and forward-looking nature of the School's research in these areas. The authors of these papers include 11 professors and 12 master's and Ph.D. students. Their research findings not only bring new perspectives and insights to the academic community but also offer valuable guidance for management practice.

The acceptance of 20 papers from the Department of Business Administration at the AOM 2024 is not only a recognition of the research achievements of our faculty and students by the international academic community but also an affirmation of the overall scientific research capabilities of the School of Management. On March 22, 2024, School of Management, Fudan University (FDSM) achieved a ranking of 70th worldwide in this year’s UTD Top 100 Business School Research Rankings (2019-2023), once again securing the No.1 position in Chinese mainland. This marks the School’s ninth consecutive year in the global top 100.

These achievements are closely linked to the School's long-standing emphasis on academic research. The School has consistently endeavored to optimize the research environment, provide abundant academic resources, and encourage interdisciplinary and cross-field collaboration and exchange among faculty and students. Additionally, the School has established cooperative relationships with many well-known universities and research institutions at home and abroad to jointly promote the development of management.

In the future, the School will continue to uphold the concept of “academics as the foundation and research as the core” and will keep driving innovation and progress in the field of management. The School looks forward to collaborating with academic and industry peers worldwide to explore new areas in management and to provide management insights and solutions for addressing global challenges.
