――聚劲论坛之Mr.Ray Stata主题演讲侧记

3月21日,友邦堂。美国模拟器件公司合伙创始人、现任董事会主席Ray Stata先生,在复旦大学管理学院陆雄文院长、殷志文副院长的陪同下来到聚劲论坛,复旦MBA学子再次领略到世界一流企业家的风采;而他随后进行的名为“Creating and sustaining high performance organizations”的主题演讲,更让复旦MBA学子体会到组织发展中领导力的真谛与创新的推动性。
美国模拟器件公司(Analog Devices, Inc.)是一家全球领半导体先的高性能模拟信号、混合信号处理集成电路专业公司。ADI公司拥有满足全球六万多客户需求的一万多种产品。ADI公司品牌、产品种类、客户宽带和信号处理技术的核心能力共同铸造了整个半导体行业中实力最强和效益最好的公司之一。
Ray Stata先生分别是美国东北大学工程博士,Curry 学院工商管理博士,洛厄尔大学人文学博士及爱尔兰利默里克大学工程博士。他积极投身高技术产业和公共服务事业。他是马萨诸塞州高技术委员会(MHTC)董事会现任成员, MIT公司执行委员会现任委员,还是美国半导体工业协会专家委员。
Ray Stata先生的演讲主要围绕领导力的贡献,挑战及运用技巧展开。Ray Stata先生通过将领导力与管理的对比,进一步将领导力定义为“Influence, Effectiveness, Interaction and Relationship”。结合ADI公司的发展实践,Ray Stata先生阐述了公司发展中:如何演化公司的战略导向;如何发展一个以核心技术为基础的双向服务企业(定制与标准生产);以及公司如何在传统业务出现发展瓶颈时,寻找新业务的发展点,进行公司再造,推进公司的全新高效发展。最后,Ray Stata先生指出,公司发展的目标就是满足人们的需求;公司成功的推动力就是创新,公司在发展的过程中应当关注技术创新,应当以“项目失败而非人的失败”理念保护个人创新过程中的失败,应当树立“创造领先能力”的发展意识,更要坚定组织管理创新是组织成功的关键。
在Q&A环节,同学们积极踊跃的提问和Ray Stata先生精彩耐心的回答,将此次论坛推向高潮。在分享ADI公司高速高效发展的成功精髓时,Ray Stata先生提出的组织变化中的创造力困境,保持高层管理者的创造热情,建立系统的思考方式等管理问题,都需要我们MBA学子在学习和管理实践中不断地揣摩和体会。

Judging by the distinguished history, Ray Stata, board chairman of Analog device Co, Ltd, turned out to be a very successful businessman. From the inception of the speech, we were quite impressed by his energetic entrepreneurship, Mr. Ray addressed us a fantastic speech, sharing us with a lot of beneficial thoughts. For example, what’s important in the business, how to achieve “being the best model” by system thinking , leadership attributes and so on.. To our MBA students, tonight is delightful and rewarding.

What is the leadership? Chairman of the board of ADI, Mr. Ray Stata, gave us his answer. In his point of view, leadership is really different from common features that are attributed to management. Leadership means much more positive attitude and a kind of philosophy, that is, how you value challenges, stress on effectiveness and innovation, support your teammates with self-inspiration for social recognition, etc. what he said is just the access to success in our career.

Before I entered Fudan University I have attended the lecture of management presented by Mr.Yu Shiwei, one of his points that “if there are no satisfied employees there will no satisfied customers” gave me a deep impression. Today in Mr. Ray’s speech, his management model about
employees, products, customers, and stockholders endowed me further understanding above mentioned point. Confronted more and more intensive competition, the most important thing for the management is to satisfy their employees. Only in this way, the product quality can be guaranteed., further more, both the customers’ satisfaction and the corporation’s profit will be achieved. As a result, the benefits of the stockholders will be ensured. This is the secret of the sustainable development for most of the successful companies.
