The 6th course consists of two major parts, which were “Banking for Financial Institutions” and “Information Technology for A Global Bank”respectively.
The first topic was delivered by Ms. Catherine Wang, Head of Financial Institutions, Citi China. She clarified the core conception about FIG together with the needs of FI customers for financial services including banks, insurance companies, securities firms, fund managers and financial leasing and so on. Catherine extent her topic to the solutions provided by Citi including growth strategy, capital and liability. What’s more, FIG Business in China, especially market size, was put forward to help MBA students get a whole picture about the FI services. Finally, Catherine said something about the long-term trends and outlook of China FIG clients.
After a short break, Richard Hosang, General Manager, Citicorp Software and Technology Sevices, gave us an excellent speech about the information technology for a global bank. Richard came from the country where the world famous athlete Bolt came from. And he was very proud of this. Richard tried to confirm us that technology was very interesting and not boring as some of the MBA students had expected. Steve Jobs, when it came to technology, was inevitably mentioned to demonstrate the importance of it. Two important conception, “universal bank” and “customer centricity” were put forward to showtechnology platform solutions on a global scale.Finally, Richard ended his speech by summarizing the new banking system solutions.
Today’s 2 lecturers were rewarded “the light of wisdom” as usual. They would like to share more of their experiences and knowledge in the future.
