The last Citi-Fudan University Banking Course began at 13:00 Dec 20th, 2011. The last lecture was delivered by Mr. Simon Chow, Country Business Manager, Global Consumer Group. Simon has been in Citi China for quite a few years. He is very familiar with the banking services regarding consumer banking. This time he brought all the MBA students with such topics as Consumer Business Overview, Consumer Banking in China and Expansion Plan.
Simon began today’s lecture with Citi Group organization together with the regions where consumer banking services were developed. Simon focused more on the services in Asia Pacific and was very proud of its long history and good reputation. He made the audience understood the key products, frontline functions and supporting functions.
When it came to the consumer banking in China, Simon first introduced some data concerning China’s urban population by 2030 and 6 new megacities which will emerge by 2025 with the purpose of declaring the whole picture about the developing trend for the consumer banking services. Then he stressed Citi’s consumer banking business overview.
As for the expansion plan, Simon put forward a concept of launching smart banking, developing electronic channels and building perceptual scale. Simon mentioned that a campaign called blue wave in Shanghai had been launched to serve this purpose. Also citi banking Road Show in XJH Metro had already been put into practice. Finally, Simon listed a lot of winning awards Citi China had earned.
All the Citi-Fudan banking courses have completed, on behalf of Citi Group, Mr. Simon Chow gave us the Closing Remark in the end. A term paper assignment is required with the due date on Monday, Mar. 5th, 2012. Hope that all the attendees have learnt a lot from these courses.
