Patrick M. Prevost is President and Chief Executive Officer of Cabot Corporation.

He joined the corporation in 2008.　 He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Company.　 Cabot is a global leading producer of specialty chemicals and advanced materials with sales of $3.1 billion in fiscal year 2011.　 It has operations in more than 20 countries.　 It was founded in 1882, has its headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts and is a public company quoted on the NYSE under CBT.　　

Mr. Prevost is a chemist and earned his BSC. degree in Chemistry from the University of Geneva in Switzerland.　 He followed this with an MBA from the University of Chicago.　 Prior to joining Cabot, Mr. Prevost served as President of the Performance Chemicals Division of BASF in Ludwigshafen, Germany.　 With over $5 billion in sales and 7,000 employees worldwide, this division included a large proportion of BASF's specialty chemicals activities. Mr. Prevost joined BASF Corporation in 2003 as President, Chemicals and Plastics based in Florham Park, New Jersey.　 In this role, he was instrumental in a major restructuring effort in North America.　 Prior to BASF, Mr. Prevost was a senior executive at BP plc which he joined via the acquisition of Amoco Corporation in 1999. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Prevost served as Vice President, Strategy and Planning for BP Chemicals, the $15 billion petrochemical arm of BP plc. In that role, he was a member of the Executive Committee based in London. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Prevost ran the polyester raw material business unit (PTA) of BP based in Chicago. Prior to 1999, he held multiple operational and functional leadership positions at Amoco since joining the company in 1983.

Mr. Prevost is a French citizen who has spent many years living in the United States and Asia. He also spent time in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.　 He is a board member of General Cable and of the American Chemistry Council.　 He is also member of the board of trustees of the French Cultural Center and the New England Conservatory in Boston.
