·Introduction:
With a background in Applied Social Psychology, Crawford started his career as a strategic planner working in agencies such as DDB, AMV BBDO and Chiat Day.
In 1996 he founded the global trends company HeadlightVision in London and New York, which was acquired by WPP in 2003. He led two mergers with The Henley Centre and then with Yankelovich and took on the role of Global Executive Chairman of the newly founded WPP group The Futures Company.
He co-founded The Behavioural Architects in 2011, a company that uses the latest thinking from the behavioural sciences and in particular behavioural economics to help companies better understand and influence consumer behaviour. With offices now on three continents, they work with many of the world's leading companies, reinvigorating traditional research methodologies alongside pioneering new approaches.
Crawford is a leading thinker in the application of BE to businesses to unlock new behavioural understanding and growth. Over the last two years he has lectured to organisations such as MRS, Esomar, EphMRA, Aura and the London Business School, amongst others. In addition he has written and published over 90 articles on applied BE, writing for organisations such as the MRS [Research Live and Impact magazine], Aura and the Marketing Society [Market Leader and core blog].
In August 2013 he was judged Best Speaker 2013 by Aura and in December 2013 he collected the trophy for best New Agency for Outstanding Breakthrough Thinking which was awarded by the Market Research Society in London. In 2014 TBA won the EphMRA JH award and are shortlisted for the AQR Prosper Riley-Smith QUALITATIVE EXCELLENCE AWARD.
