嘉宾简介 Bio of the Speaker:
Edward G. Krubasik, Prof. Dr. rer. nat., MBA, studied physics at the universities of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Karlsruhe in Germany. After obtaining a doctorate in nuclear physics and following research projects at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in California he completed an MBA program at the European Institute for Business Administration (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau, France.
Prof. Krubasik worked as partner and director at McKinsey & Co., Inc. for over twenty years, where he was in charge of McKinsey’s global Innovation and Technology Management Practice and the European Electronics, Telecommunications and Aerospace Sector.
From 1997 to 2006 Professor Krubasik was a member of the Corporate Executive Committee of Siemens AG with special responsibility for the company’s Industry and Transport business sector and Siemens’ Corporate Technology Department. Within this time period he was in charge of a series of turnarounds, mergers and reorganizations as chairman of a series of global and regional Siemens companies, e.g. Siemens VDO Automotive AG, Siemens Dematic AG, Siemens Building Technologies AG, Siemens France SA and Siemens Belgium SA. On behalf of the Committee he was responsible for Siemens’ relations with the EU and represented Siemens in top positions in national and international industry associations.
Since 1998 he has been a Member of the Board of Dresdner Bank and later of the Central Advisors Council of Commerzbank, Frankfurt, of Stinnes AG, Essen, of KSB AG, Frankenthal, and of Covisint Corp., Detroit/USA. Since 2007 he has been Member of the Board and Chairman of the Strategy Committee of Vallourec SA, Paris, and ASAHI TEC Corp.,Tokyo. In 2008 and 2009 he was Chairman of the Board of Honsel AG, Meschede, as industrial partner of RHJ International, Brussels.
From 2004 to 2007 Edward Krubasik was a member of the Executive Committee of the German Federation of Industry (BDI). He held the position of President of ZVEI (Electrical Industry Association) and President of Orgalime, the European Engineering Industries Association, Brussels, and was Chairman of the Commission for Economic Growth and Innovation at the Economic Advisors Council for Germany and is leading a similar Commission for the Economic Council in Bavaria. He has been a member of the European Commission’s High Level Group on Competitiveness, Energy and the Environment and Co-Chairman (with Commissioner Verheugen) of the Electra Taskforce developing a European industry sector growth plan.
2014 he was elected President of the German Physics Society. He has been honorary professor at the Technical University of Munich since 1998, is serving as Director in Residence at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, and giving courses for non-executive directors there. He is Honorary Senator of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is a member of the Board of the Cultural Foundation of German Industries and of the School for Music and Theatre, Munich.
