Mid-term Review for 2015 Fudan Local iLab Projects

Bosch Team
The iLab Bosch project launched at the end of January this year. With the great efforts of all the team members and instructor Dr. Zhang Zhe, Bosch project had been carried out successfully according to project plan. All the team members were highly involved in doing market research through appropriate channels, such as Internet, publication, on-site visit, exhibition fair, and one-on-one interview. In order to ensure smooth communication within the team members, they held a routine meeting every week and sent out formal memoranda to the project members.
On May 8, Fudan local iLab Bosch project mid-term review session was held in Bosch Chassis Systems Control China which is located in Suzhou Industrial Park. During the review session, the Bosch team delivered a presentation on project definition and the methodology to address the problem. They also provided research progress and unique insights on the final deliverables. Bosch representatives provided suggestions and recommendations on how the project should precede going forward as well as their concerns and expectations.
Despite of some enquires and questions, the company made a high evaluation on the project and would continue to support this team to achieve. Bosch team was greatly encouraged by the company’s positive reaction.

Haitong UniTrust Team-Hospital
On May 7, Fudan local iLab Haitong UniTrust International Leasing Corporation/medical treatment and health part collaborative project successfully concluded its mid-term review meeting in Haitong UniTrust's head office, located in Henderson Metropolitan on East Nanjing Road.
In this meeting, the project team members led by Professor Zhang Zhe, Associate Professor of Department of Marketing in Fudan University, reported the current project progress and the mid-term achievements to Manlani Chu, Vice President of Haitong Unitrust International Leasing Corporation. Manlani Chu expressed her satisfaction about the mid-term project achievements and her willingness to promote the further cooperation with Fudan iLab team, wishing to get a deeper analysis report in the final meeting. At the end of the meeting, both parties reached a consensus about the coming work arrangement, the final report format and the report model.

Haitong Unitrust Team-Leisure Food
On May 12, leisure food industry financial leasing iLab project group of Fudan University arrived at Haitong Unitrust Finance Leasing Co., Ltd., to present mid-term report to Mr. Wang Qi, the Vice President of the company. The team adequately prepared for the presentation under the detailed guidance of Prof. Zhao Youzhen, hence, the mid-term report received high evaluation from the attendees.
During the preparation, the team had interviewed nearly 20 enterprises and institutions, collected   large number of first-hand data, and conducted multilateral verification of secondary data, ensuing the objectivity and reliability of the project.
After the mid-term report, the Vice President and all group members launched a lively discussion to determine the specific direction and content of the next steps. Project team would focus more on studies in industry further to typical enterprise analysis, to pave the way for the company's subsequent work of practical and feasible scheme. Finally, the Vice President also excitedly introduced more about their financial leasing business to the project group, which rendered assistance to the team members to perceive the real meaning of the project, and all of the students felt more confident and motivated to accomplish the project.

CP Lotus team
On May 7, Fudan local iLab CP Lotus team, together with faculty mentor Professor Zhang Cheng from Fudan University, headed to CP Lotus’ head office located in Pudong New District.
The mid-term report was based on CP Lotus historical sales data for ductility analysis. During the presentation, the team not only introduced the status quo of selling and program background, but also submitted research proposal from macroscopic and microscopic perspectives.
Lotus spoke highly of the team’s hard working and presentation, and proposed some suggestions at the same time on the data analysis results. After the mid-term review, the team and the representatives from the company had a further discussion with respect to analytical methods and the direction of the work for the next phase.

PPG Team
Right after the final exam, the PPG project was initiated on Jan 21. Since all the team members were unfamiliar with the coating industry, PPG managers provided general trainings to them every week and even some technicians were asked to render them professional and detailed technical guidance and support. During these months, the PPG team conducted several researches from a marketing approach and interviewed the sales team of the company. Thereafter the team set up some models based upon the previous collected information about product price, sales volume, and competitors.
On May 5, the team finished mid-term review presentation after 3-month comprehensive preparation. The representatives from the company spoke highly of their performance, especially their reasonable solutions to products’ price adjustment.

YHD Team-CRM
On May 6, the iLab project team of CRM together with Sun Long, the Vice Director of Fudan MBA Program and Executive Director of Fudan IMBA Program, attended the mid-term review meeting for Yihaodian Customer Relationship Management Project at the headquarters of Yihaodian which is located in Pudong New District. The attendees from Yihaodian included Mr. Zhang Gaofeng (the Head of Business Intelligence), Ms. Dai Qing (the Director of Human Resources), Mr. Pan Biao (the Vice President of Website Operation and Sales Departments), and Mr. Wang Zhen (the Senior Manager of Membership Operation).
During the meeting, the iLab project team members firstly gave a presentation on the research findings for the past several months. Yihaodian representatives raised several questions regarding each of the three cases in the presentation. In this Q&A session, many constructive suggestions were proposed by the company. Through the mid-term review meeting, the iLab project team became much clearer about the project goals and more confident on the next phase of the project.

YHD Team- Customer Experience
As teams regarding the project of Operational Management of Customer Experience, four IMBA students from Fudan University School of Management, together with Mr. Sun Long, officially visited Yihaodian and gave the mid-term review presentation. The Head of Business Intelligence Zhang Gaofeng, the Director of Data Analysis Liu Fei, the Senior Manager of Membership Operation Wang Zhen, the Director of Human Resource Daisy Dai attended the review meeting.
This project team delivered the analysis of customer operational experience of IKEA and CBC. IKEA provided the whole process service offline of customer experience and CBC provided the online and offline service with the supporting of enterprise culture.
After the presentation, Yihaodian representatives raised some questions and provided the guidance for the following researches. The success of this meeting was a milestone in this customer experience project and all the team members wished to collaborate actively to achieve success in the final representation.

Q-Tail Team
On May 15, Q-tail project team delivered the mid-term review report to the company together with Mentor Chu Rongwei and Executive Director of Fudan IMBA Program Mr. Sun Long.
Since the project was officially launched, the project team had conducted a series of research upon customer behavior, marketing environment and competitors in this industry and finally the team presented an impressive analysis report to the audiences.
Two judges of this mid-term review set a high value on this presentation by giving some affirmative comments as well as put forward many constructive suggestions. Professor Chu offered practical advice that marketing tactics should be concentrated on the real product characters. Meanwhile, Mr. Sun recommended that the team should take into account return on investment analysis from the perspective of sustainable development for brand image.
After in-depth discussion, “Q-tail” project team indicated that they benefitted a lot from the instructions and they would improve analytical methods and achieve the ultimate goals in the Fudan local iLab program.
