Australia-China iLab
The timeframe for the Fudan team to fly to Brisbane Australia and then return to Shanghai was from April 24th to April 30th. The most important event was on April 29th at 10:30am where Fudan team in cooperation with the University of Queensland team had the mid-term presentation to the client University of Queensland Business School Executive Education.
The feedback that the team have received from clients, mentors and other involved parties is highly positive. This result is the culmination of the hard work and time that both teams have spent during the previous months. This was suitably doubled down on during the work week where many different work streams were finalized.
The process was an initial series of workshops led by different individuals such as University of Queensland mentors and faculty members. One workshop helped to prepare for the work at hand in terms of completing the “story board” method to creating a slide deck. When taking a look at the finalized version of the presentation, it is clear that this was highly impactful in helping to develop a very high quality framework to present to the client.
Overall, the week went by with a flash, and has pushed the team forward as a team. But the final objective still needs further devotion and efforts.

Apart from the communication on the project itself, both parties also proactively initiated the cross-cultural talk, through which they got to know more about each other. OptoFidelity
Apr 26th, the iLab team of OptoFidelity project, with 4 IMBA students being the consultants of the project, 1 MBA student as the industry advisor and Professor Chu Rongwei, have arrived at Tampere, the once industrialized center of Nordic region and nowadays the innovation center of Finland.
It was a rainy day, accommodating the anxiety of the team, who had been diligently working on the project during the past three and half months, yet still couldn’t be satisfied on their mid-term project to present to the client company, OptoFidelity. After a joyful Finnish local meal, including the first-time experience of reindeer steak and tasty Finnish beer, the team indulged themselves into a final review and rehearsal of the project proposal.
Professor Chu organized a round-table review meeting and encouraged every and each team member to throw critical opinions on the whole proposal, with the aim of identifying any structural theory logic gap, as well as any possible different opinions of the proposed content, to the very detail organization of format and font size. Accompanied by the long day of Finland, where the night won’t come till 10 pm, the team had been working so devoted that till 2am in the morning, we’ve finally reached a fine-tuned version of the proposal.

The coming three days thereafter came as a hard-earned success. After presenting the proposal to the executive teams of OptoFidelity including its founds, CEO, CTO, VP and directors, their feedbacks are overwhelming positive, and responded with great expectation on final term. There have also been interviews arranged to meet the sales & market team and technology team for the purpose of an in-depth understanding of the status quo of OptoFidelity as well as their own ideas of what they are, how they are performing, and why they have reached current success. The project meeting has achieved more than both sides had expected, and it won’t be possible without the chances of the visit.
