Navigate Career Transitions in the Medical Industry

In the "Workplace Wisdom" series, MBA students are invited to share insights in their respective walks of life. Today, let’s meet Long Weiwei, Li Gen, Chen Xia and Cao Zhan from the class enrolled in 2020 and learn about careers in the medical industry.

As a mid-level manager, Li sees “reliable” and “modest” as valuable qualities in subordinates, while Long puts emphasis on communication skills, ability of learning, independent thinking, etc.

When asked about the most determining choice that has led to their achievements, Chen is proud of her decision to leave her permanent post at a prestigious hospital for a medical R&D job; Long considers entering the medical industry her career-altering decision; Cao values his return to the field he majored in and he is best at; when his previous company no longer matches the pace of his personal development, Li quickly began to expand his knowledge and prepare for a career transition.

All four students agree that though the Fudan MBA program helps substantially in improving their expertise in the business management, the more profound influence on their career development comes from the network, the platform and the vision it provides.
