This June, 26 Fudan MBA students and 31 alumni just finished a two-week course, Strategic Mindset and Innovation - the Israeli Experience, jointly designed by Fudan University School of Management (FDSM) and Coller School of Management, Tel Aviv University. The course was conducted innovatively by both online and offline.
In the online part, top scholars from Tel Aviv University and entrepreneurs from Israel shared their insight into the Israeli corporate ecosystem and globalization strategies from cutting-edge perspectives such as block chain, artificial intelligence, big data, financial technology and cyber security.
The offline part of the course incorporated more Chinese perspectives. Guest speakers from various fields shared their observations on the culture, society, and market of China and those of Israel. The students visited the Israeli high-tech companies in Suzhou and conducted in-depth case studies on Israeli companies.
Professor Zheng Ming, Deputy Dean of FDSM, summed up that technological innovation has been the emphasis throughout this course, which stimulateed innovative thinking through discussions on the Chinese and Israeli development strategies in the frontier fields of science, technology and innovation, in combination with FDSM's sci-tech innovation strategy.
Professor Sun Jinyun pointed out that the design of this course highly valued the unity of knowledge and application. “It allowed the students to see the interaction between Israeli companies and the Chinese market, and encouraged them to think in multiple dimensions and learn through actions by introducing new pedagogies of online and offline sessions, theoretical and practical content of learning, and field visits and practical case studies”
Based on the students’ needs, Fudan MBA designed the Global Immersion Program (GIP) specifically for the MBA students who cannot be able to participate in the one-semester International Exchange Program. The goal of the GIP is to provide the MBA students with global experience learning and immerse them in different cultures and business environment. The students will learn the language of global business, engage with complex interconnected global issues, and gain opportunities to expand their vison worldwide.
