Re-examining Peace and Development from the Russia-Ukraine Conflict

In the episode of the forum “Insights in the Spring” by Fudan MBA Program, Professor Pan Zhongqi from School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University shared his analysis on the Russia-Ukraine Conflict and China's diplomacy with the Fudan MBA students during an online session.

Professor Pan’s lecture unfolded around four subjects: the ins and outs of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, China's position and policy concerning the conflict, the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on China's diplomacy, and how China is rethinking its relationship with the United States.

Professor Pan analysed the current complicated China-US relations. He pointed out that to be defined by the US as an enemy is not the best strategy for China. The Russia-Ukraine conflict has changed the global geopolitical situation and the international environment for China. Therefore, it is necessary for China to consider the China-US relations from multiple perspectives and from an objective standpoint that is in line with national interests.
