On its Launching Ceremony of the Sci-tech Innovation Week, Fudan University School of Management (FDSM) carried out a series of activities to celebrate the second anniversary of the implementation of its sci-tech innovation strategy.
Professor Jin Li, President of Fudan University and an academician at Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out in his speech that, improving sci-tech innovation capabilities has become a priority for the development in China. Therefore, when FDSM launched its sci-tech innovation strategy in 2020, it was addressing the needs of the times. Nowadays, “Lead with Innovation” and “Empower Sci-tech Innovation with Management” have become essential parts in the genes of the FDSM culture.
Then Professor Lu Xiongwen, Dean of FDSM, presented a report on the implementation of the sci-tech innovation strategy.“In the past two years, FDSM has made plenty of achievements in research on sci-tech innovation, talent development, as well as in the construction of a sci-tech innovation ecosystem, which have been applauded by both the business world and the education scene.”
Several ceremonies were held afterwards: the authorisation ceremony of FDSM as a Senior Management Talent Training Base for Innovation of the Information Technology by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; the founding ceremony of the G50 Investment and Financing Service Platform for the Sci-Tech Innovation Industry; launching of the Yangtze Delta “Join” Sci-tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition; the release ceremony of the first series of textbooks on management of sci-tech innovation; signing ceremony of the Fudan Declaration of Sci-tech Innovation Enterprise Development Alliance; and the opening ceremony of the 5th Fudan Sci-tech Innovation Entrepreneur Camp.
Next, Lin Xinhua, Dean of the School of Life Sciences and Sun Xiangchen, Dean of the School of Philosophy and Dean Lu held an in-depth discussion on topics such as how universities should align its practice with national strategies concerning sci-tech innovation, how to carry out innovative talent development schemes, etc. Then a discussion entitled “Development Opportunities and Countermeasures of Sci-tech Innovation Enterprises” brought together Professor Qian Shizheng from FDSM and five outstanding entrepreneurs.
